Fire Station Tour

Our KS5 students visited the fire station for a world of work day.

They were given a tour of the fire station including how the fire engines worked, all the equipment and how it is used, they were able to get aboard the fire engines, see a practical demonstration showing the fire engine and hoses in use in the event of a fire in a 3-storey flat.

The students engaged in a Q&A session and tried on the uniforms as well as having discussions about what qualifications and training is needed to be able to work in the fire service.

Thank you Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service, (especially Red Watch at Oldham Community Fire Station) for supporting us to provide this valuable experience and giving up your time to talk to the students from The Springboard Project.
