Firstly, we’d like to introduce ourselves in writing our first blog; Mrs Roberts, deliverer of PSHCE and Miss Caines, Springboard Nurture Group deliverer.
This week we re-opened our doors and welcomed back our students after 2 weeks of isolation, and what a positive week back it has been.
Springboard have really been engaging and making head way with their ASDAN PSD this week, covering modules: managing social relationships, personal safety and working towards a goal. The class have participated in some fantastic discussion work on topics of a sensitive nature, positively engaging with one another and respecting one another’s views and opinions. They have also taken some ownership of what they want to achieve from this year and set themselves a smart target for this academic year.
The ASDAN Personal and Social Development programme has also begun at Springboard this week, with some learners welcoming the new offer, following some individualised learning pathways, and embracing the way in which they can see their progression and visually see a portfolio coming together.
The Nurture Group have been setting goals and discussing things that they would like to achieve or overcome. They have come up with individual “bucket lists” which they have been making and decorating to display in 3D form.
On the Engagement Pathway this week, Josh and Callon have been working with Steve from Ace Training. They’re learning how to take tyres off wheels using machines ready to prep and repaint the wheel hubs.
Friday saw the DofE staff and students walking and exploring the Healey Dell Nature Reserve in Rochdale.
And finally, Friday saw the SPRINGBOARD team wear yellow to show our support of Young Minds, the UK’s leading charity fighting for children and young people’s mental health.
