This week at Springboard Project saw the return to our usual timetable as students resumed accessing their Maths, English, ICT and PSHE classes. The students were extremely excited to get back to a bit of normality (as were the staff!) and they certainly hit the ground running. It was refreshing for all to see different faces throughout the day and allowed us to pick up where we left off all way the back in March.
Here we have our in-house VR expert James showing Harlan the ropes..
It was business as usual up at Mahdlo for the lads, with a few new additions. Our new student Adam, joined us this week and he’s definitely brought some of that Merseyside flair with him, nutmegging people left right and centre! We also welcomed George, our new staff member this week and he almost sent Mr Daly into an early retirement. Great to see the new lads mixing so well with our existing students.
Jayden and Kien took great steps in their hopes of becoming personal trainers this week, delivering bespoke sessions to each other. Absolutely fantastic to see these two being so committed to creating a clear pathway for their futures!
Callon and Josh of our engagement pathway continued their work at the ACE centre with Mr Clough. Keep it up boys, I could do with a decent mechanic!
It turned out to be a blessing in disguise this morning on Duke of Edinburgh as the guys had to turn back due to a road closure but stumbled across a stunning walk around Stalybridge. Amman channeled his inner horse and Harvey, Harry, Brandon and Mr Daly joined forces to create Oldham’s worst boy band cover shoot.
This week in Nurture they focused on an art project creating 3-D letters and a 3-D version of Chuckie. I think we need to have a word with Mrs Tootill about creating a new sign for our building.
We’ve had a brilliant, but exhausting week here at Springboard and we are all certainly ready for the weekend. Have a good rest everyone and we go again Monday ready for our last week before half term.
