Hi, this week has seen the end of our local lockdown and we have been able to offer our students the opportunity of taking part in off site activities again!
Over the week the ACE Project in Rochdale have provided construction and motor mechanics sessions which have seen our students really put their skills on show. ACE have given them glowing feedback stating that they have “exceeded expectations”, “shown standout ability” and that “the staff at ACE have really enjoyed the sessions”. Well done!
Over at the Saddleworth Cookery School, we have had students from our transition team showing off their culinary skills..
On-site our talented chef Lotfi has been cooking up a storm in the kitchen with the students and filling the building with scents that would give Mcvities a run for their money..
In Maths the students have been working on their Entry Certificate folders and developing their four rules skills..
This week in PSHE, students have been covering a number of topics. In Financial Choices students have been researching different savings accounts, learning which would be the best option..
The community action topic was a discussion based lesson looking into the changes that we have faced during the Covid 19 pandemic, thinking about those in our community who may be struggling the most and what we could do to help..
Emotional well-being saw the students looking into Maslow’s hierarchy of needs..
..and finally the healthy living topic saw them looking into a balanced diet in more depth and researching specific terminology..
Bringing the week to a close our Duke of Edinburgh’s group have braved the weather and thoroughly enjoyed themselves up in Pots and Pans, they were just missing some hot chocolate and a nice fire but there’s always next week..
We will be celebrating Christmas jumper day next Friday 11th December.
The snow has arrived so enjoy your weekend and keep safe!
