Caring for the animals,
caring for ourselves…
To celebrate children’s mental health week, This week at The Agricultural and Rural Centre students decided on a petting week were we visited all the animals on the farm.
Interacting with animals has been shown to decrease levels of cortisol (a stress-related hormone) and lower blood pressure.
Studies have found that animals can reduce loneliness, increase feelings of social support, and boost your mood.
Our students had fun, petting, holding and caring for the animals.
