Summer Holiday Club – Weeks Three & Four

The last two weeks of our Summer Holiday Club have been packed full of adventures, creativity, and plenty of good food! Here’s a little round-up of what we’ve been up to…

Week Three

Tuesday – Masterchefs in the making

Our young chefs whipped up a tasty menu: fresh cucumber salad, BBQ chicken sliders, and trifle for dessert. A perfect mix of healthy and indulgent – and most importantly, delicious!

Wednesday – Seaside vibes

We took a trip to the seaside town of Southport, where the students enjoyed a stroll along the front before hitting the arcades for some friendly competition. No seaside trip is complete without fish and chips followed by ice cream, so of course we finished off with both!

Thursday – Outdoor adventure

We headed over to Venture Out where the students enjoyed a scenic bike ride, followed by kayaking along the canal in Stockport. Meanwhile, Chloe (one of our intervention workers) took a student from the Adapted Curriculum Pathway to Doodle Pots for some creative pottery painting fun.

Week Four

Tuesday – Kyle’s Kitchen Takeover

This week the menu featured Kyle’s famous bruschetta, hearty lasagne, and gooey caramel choc chip cookies – a feast from start to finish!

Wednesday – Trafford Centre Adventures

We explored the Trafford Centre, where the Lego shop was a big hit. Two of our students even gave a surprise piano performance in the middle of the centre – so much talent! We rounded off the day at Archie’s Roller Skating, where everyone showed off their moves (and a few wobbles too!).

Thursday – Making a splash

At the Water Activity Centre in Droylsden, we jumped into a day of kayaking and giant paddle boarding. Safe to say, most of us ended up in the water at some point – but that was half the fun!

Friday – Pizza catch-up

To wrap up the summer, students from the Adapted Curriculum Pathway enjoyed a relaxed pizza catch-up together – the perfect ending to a busy few weeks.
